As far as the 3B students are concerned, they loved this film as well as The Book Thief: "Invictus is a biographical/sport film based on Nelson Mandela's life during the 1995 Rugby World Cup in South Africa. About the poem, Invictus, I think that it is beautiful and touching; as to the film, I haven't any favourite scenes, I love the whole film." Marianna Di G. 3B " In my opinion, Invictus is a beautiful film, because the story is interesting and rugby is my favourite sport." Giulio D. 3A " I liked the film Invictus, because it represents the defeat of apartheid. I loved the poem, the characters and their personalities." Sara M. 3A |
This film was the 3A students' favourite: set in Germany during the second world war, it tells the story of a young German girl, Liesel, with a passion for reading and writing. " I love this film and I recommend it because even in dealing with serious subjects, it isn't boring." Giulia G. 3A " I loved Liesel's personality. She is strong, she is a little superhero and I loved following her life, watching her grow." Sara Co. 3A " I think this is a very beautiful film and has a very important message. My favourite scene is the final one when the Death tells about the rest of Liesel's life." Matteo P. 3B " The Book Thief is the film I love because of Liesel, the protagonist. She loves books and she is brave, and I liked Liesel's best friend, Rudy, who loves sport. I liked the story because it is touching." Suada G. 3B |
On the Way to School (original title: Sur le Chemin de l'Ecole) was chosen by a minority of students as their favourite both in 3A and 3B, but it was generally loved as well. " On the Way to School is a documentary film. It talks about the life of four children. I like this film because it makes me think about poor children and how much we are fortunate." Salvatore V. 3B "My favourite story was Zahira's. I liked the film because it was moving, especially the ending and it was adventurous." Giulia D. 3B "..... I like this film because it represents the life of many children who don't have the possibility to study and how we are fortunate for having this possibility." Riccardo M. 3B " I loved this film becase the story is moving and the protagonists' lives are difficult. I think he film teaches the importance of school in the world." Eleni C. 3A " I like this film, because it teaches how much it is difficult for some children to go to school when you're poor and far from it." Claudia I. 3A |
